I've been meaning to do this for a while, and I just haven't done it. I'd like to take this opportunity to talk about Fleet Feet Sports in Huntsville.

When I first started running, runners in the area told me to go to Fleet Feet Sports in Huntsville. That is the single best piece of running advice anyone has ever given me! The staff there was very friendly, helpful, and knowledgeable. They truly take care of their customers. Every time I have been to the store, it has been a great experience.

I was honored when I was selected for the Fleet Feet racing team, sponsored by Nike, for the 2010 season. I didn't write about it here sooner because I wasn't sure it was for real. I was waiting for them to realize how slow I am and that there had been a mistake in the selection process. But now, I've got a spot on the website and a uniform that I've worn, so I'm in for this season!

Seriously, nobody has better customer service and higher quality products and employees than Fleet Feet. Nobody does more to support the local running community than Fleet Feet. I can't imagine buying running gear anywhere else.

It's funny...when I started running in January, I needed some tights. My husband suggested ...another local running store. I went in and got what I needed and liked the store just fine. ((I'm a "hole in the wall" kind of gal, NOT a franchise-frequenter.))

When I started having trouble with my legs a neighbor told me about Fleet Feet's custom shoe fitting and treadmill video thing (something the other store doesn't offer) so I went in. The skeptic in me said the service I got couldn't be REAL-it had to be strictly geared toward sales, but I DID get a great pair of shoes and inserts. Not only that, I got extremely valuable advice about various things from how to warm up to specific stretches to use for the trouble I was having. I got on their mailing list and shortly afterwards got a notice about an upcoming training group...which I quickly joined.

I could go on with a comment longer than your whole post...but all that is to say, this "franchise" is truly a LOCAL running store...and everyone there (owners and sales staff alike) seems to truly care about the sport of running and the people who participate in it. I have never come out of that store without some invaluable tip that has helped me be a better runner--even the times I haven't spent anything more than time.

Suffice it to say, I LOVE that place--I guess I could have said just that from the start, huh? :D
